Your first venture
A new venture starts in the discovery phase, which asks whether a real problem exists and who has it. The framework’s first job is to keep you from overbuilding, so it begins by telling you what the venture needs now.
mentura system/need-now run --venture my-ventureEach record type comes back as one of these:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| suggest now | Worth writing in this phase |
| coming soon | Needed in the next phase |
| held | Already written |
| hold back | Not needed yet; writing it now is overbuilding |
| layer off | Its layer is off for this venture |
In discovery, the first suggestion is usually the problem record of the validation kit: the claim that a problem exists, with the evidence behind it. Read its layout first, which gives you the kit’s skills, references and template:
mentura purpose/validation/problem layout --venture my-venture
mentura purpose/validation/problem templateThen write the record and check it:
mentura purpose/validation/problem write --venture my-venture --input problem.json --derived-from interviews/notes.md
mentura purpose/validation/problem check --venture my-venturementura system/overview view --venture my-venture shows the venture at a glance.
